So who is R A Brown?
Amongst his other interests Richard is an avid reader of National Geographic (probably why he is getting more 'green') and also reads Conn Iggulden novels on holiday, he enjoys visiting Europe particularly France (sampling moules frites at every opportunity) and teaching local Sea Scouts to sail. Professional Profile Richard Brown has been trading under his own name initially as a Plumber and Heating Engineer, based near Norwich for over twenty years. Richard was Corgi registered before it was legally obligatory. He has always been keen to keep pace with modern technology and has been installing warm water underfloor heating for over fifteen years, long before programmes like Grand Designs made it popular. Richard has been using Henco UFH and plumbing products for around eight years and still finds them easy to use and of good quality. He is constantly trying to persuade other plumbers to switch to polypex pipes for hot and cold services as he believes this is the best way to achieve a professional job using manifolds to isolate circuits and ensure no joints under the floor. The business has grown year on year and Richard trains our Heating Engineers to high in-house standards and also supports them through day release training at the local college. Over the past few years there has been increasing interest amongst our customers, particularly those building or renovating in rural areas, to utilise renewable energy heating. Richard, as always keen to learn about emerging products, has teamed up with Viessmann and NIBE and attended their manufacturer courses on Solar thermal and heat pumps. These technologies are now commonplace in Richard's heating system designs. |

Richard loves designing heating systems; he's not a typical entrepreneur, more one of those lucky people who is passionate about what they do. Although something of a workaholic (as all small business owners have to be) Richard also finds time to unwind, indulging in his other passion dinghy sailing, he can be found most Sundays between April and October sailing his RS400 at Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Sailing Club.
